![]() ![]() Seems to be sturdy to withstand heavy use. Backlit capability is nice, and it's fully adjustable.ģ. So more of less if it came with an adapter to fully power the USB ports and it didn't randomly die it would receive 5 Eggs Overall Review: I would imagine the squeaky space bar is not a common problem as nobody else has complained of it that I can see. The only solution I have found is rebooting the whole computer. None of my other USB devices (webcam/mouse) have ever had this problem, so I can pretty much rule the motherboard out. Unplugging and replugging does nothing, nor does changing the USB port. The 'lock' lights will light up (num, caps, scroll) but all LED background for the keys go off and the keyboard is unresponsive. Otherwise I would have gladly given it 4 eggs. Space bar is squeaky and sort of gets annoying when typing. ![]() Pros: The back lighting is cool, Macro keys could come in handy, and as my first mechanical keyboard it wasn't too hard of a transition.Ĭons: Does not come with an adapter to give it more power, which is needed for use of the USB ports. Maybe they should change one of their packaging mottos to, "(Some) Buyers are our Experts." Telling us something is "Great" without any good reasons why (Something that should be easy to do for a "Great" rating) is like buying into something based off a Twatter post. But these half-attempted reviews need to go. If you like the product then great - tell us why. If you don't like the product then good - tell us why. Reviews are meant for one's experience with the product and not to show off insecurities. Overall Review: I wish Newegg would set their standards higher for Reviews. I had to use an USB extender cable so it would stop unplugged out of the mini-USB connector. Surprisingly this keyboard is actually kind of light compared to other Mechanicals. The Anti-ghosting is about the bare basic requirement for USB, but there are many others out there that support 12 times that amount. Nice Interface, but somewhat outdated when setting macros. The Macro Software is nothing you haven't seen before and nothing that sets it out either. Now those are how Cherry MX Black Switches are supposed to feel and not semi-squishy like this. I use the Mech 5 on my gaming rig and previously owned the RK-9000BL. The Keys are low-profiled into the keyboard so that has something to do with it. These feel like a semi-membrane while offering some resistance. The Keys - while being Cherry MX Blacks -do not feel exactly like them at all (Good if you are transitioning to mechanicals, but bad if you're used to them). You are basically paying extra for the Back-lighting. Also the wrist rest is very comfortable and supports your entire wrist.Ĭons: I have been using th is mechanical for almost 4 weeks now and can confidently tell you it is sub-par at best. It has the bare basic anti-ghosting feature and covers across all keys. The Connector feels study enough where you don't have to worry about it pushing inwards. You can detach the USB cable and plug it in as many times as you want. The Back Lighting covers the whole typing area perfectly and there is even an option for the logo to Pulse. The Keys all have a rubber-coatead finish to them, and the keyboard itself is coated in even a softer material. So the transition from a membrane to this Keyboard is absolutely seamingless. The Keyboard uses Cherry MX-Black Switches -which give a tacticle feel- while still having low-profile keys. Pros: If this is your first Mechanical Keyboard you will absolutely enjoy it.
